Gradual opening of navigation on the Dnipro river begins on 20th of March.
On 19th of March, it was held the meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Yuriy Lavrenyuk concerning the opening of navigation on the Dnipro river in 2018. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety, the State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine, the State Enterprise "AMPU", SE "Classification Society Shipping Register of Ukraine".
The participants of the meeting considered the readiness of the gateways and inland waterways on the Dnipro River for opening of navigation and defined the dates for opening of navigation on the Dnipro River in 2018.
The Deputy Minister was informed about the situation and the state of all navigable hydraulic structures along the Dnipro River. "Taking into account difficult weather conditions, the Ministry of Infrastructure is perceptive to the needs of the business and from the 20-th of March is going to gradually open navigation from the lower cascade of the Dnipro (Kakhovka, Zaporozhye Gateway)," said Yuriy Lavrenyuk.
According to the results of the meeting the following dates of opening and closing navigation on navigable hydraulic structures were defined:
  • Kakhovka Gateway - 20.03.2018-05.12.2018;
  • Zaporizhzhya RSG - 20.03.2018-04.12.2018;
  • Dniprodzerzhinsk Gateway - 27.03.2018-22.11.2018;
  • Kremenchuh Gateway - 27.03.2018-22.11.2018;
  • Kaniv Gateway - 02.04.2018-15.11.2018;
  • Kyiv Gateway - 02.04.2018-15.11.2018.
